We’re starting again at the Mere Pond and Walton-on-the-Hill with it’s low water level but this time instead of going through the village we’re going to head down the back of the village for a walk around Walton Heath Golf Club. We’ll see some of the course, the maintenance areas, the on-site reservoir and then we’ll head diagonally across the course heading towards Mogador before ending at The Sportsman, a local pub. While the tees and greens of the golf course are a lovely green colour the rest of the course is suffering from the current drought and is looking more like an African Savannah than a Surrey Heathland.
